Book Review: ‘A Warlock’s Dance’ by Marina Myles

A Warlock's Dance (eBook)***I received a gift copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***

This book was a lot shorter than I expected and to be honest, I wasn’t totally enamoured with it.

What I liked: I liked the idea of the story; the fact that it was based on “Swan Lake”.

The Characters: All the characters come across as being almost fairytale like, and this just didn’t work for me unfortunately.  I didn’t connect with any of them.

Writing Style: Basing a story on a ballet is a really good idea,  I just felt the author wrote this tale in more of a child-like fairytale way rather than an adult’s romance story. Even the sex scene was a bit flat.

Would I read more from this author?  I think I would. Her ideas are a novelty to me,  I just feel they need to be spiced up and filled out more.

My rating for ‘A Warlock’s Dance ‘ is gonna be 3 Shamrocks. I may not have been overly entertained by the book,  but at the end of the day, it was okay for a 20 minute read.
