Caleb watches Lileta being severely punished for releasing Marcus, then asks to have her for himself.
Lileta has suffered horrors that no woman or demon should ever go through.
After enjoying ‘Eternal Flame’ and Marcus and Cassie’s story, I was looking forward to read ‘Fatal Desire’ and reading Caleb and Lileta’s story. I mean c’mon, who wouldn’t want to read about how a Dragon Shifter and a Demoness get together? Especially when one is a fatal toxin to the other?
I didn’t actually enjoy the storyline here as much as I did in the first book. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it a lot, but it didn’t grip me the way ‘Eternal Flame’ did. Maybe it’s because the story plot was set quite differently from it’s predecessor. I did enjoy the few twists and turns that were revealed in ‘Fatal Desire’ though, some of them I really didn’t see coming.
Characters: It was really cool to see that Valerie Twombly kept some of the main characters from ‘Eternal Flame’ in the limelight without overshadowing the main duo. Caleb and Lileta work well as a couple, both have their own insecurities and both have their own strengths, which compliment each other’s. I didn’t quite like them as much as I did Marcus and Cassie, but everyone has their favourites right?
Recommendation: I’d recomend this book to anyone who enjoys the Paranormal Romance Genre. It’s got Dragons, Vamps, Gods and more for a reader to enjoy.
Rating: I can’t fault Valerie’s writing. She has created yet another book that will keep her fans, old and new, loyal to her. This series started off strong and hasn’t been diluted, like some series tend to do,as it carries on. Four shamrocks from me for another great book in the Guardians series.
