***I was gifted a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review***

I will admit, I was a little thrown by the beginning of this book. Kinda wasn’t what I was expecting to be honest. The two main characters had already met the night before the story actually starts which sorta left me feeling like I’d missed a significant part because I like to see the run up to the actual romance. How and ever, what’s done is done and so I read on.

Morgan Mackenzie found out firsthand that the big company she works for cannot be trusted when it comes to her work. Outraged, she packs up her formula and takes off.

Jack Kent is hired to find and bring in woman who has stolen company property. He doesn’t expect to find himself aiding and abetting a gorgeous woman.

Maybe the beginning of the book throwing me off interfered with my enjoyment of this book, I dunno, I’m not sure. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t dislike it, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would and I can’t pinpoint why.

‘Damned If You Don’t’ had a good basic storyline, two main characters that a reader can enjoy, and action aplenty. The suspense in the story is good, leaving you thinking you know who the bad guy is, only to show you that you’re wrong. Yet I still didn’t get pulled in.
So the main question is, what rating? I’m tossing between a three and four. I’ve not had this much of a struggle deciding before. I think I’ll settle on 3.5 as it could be that if I re-read the book, I might find it more enjoyable the second time round, who knows?
